Security & Compliance

Security is no longer an afterthought; every business must consider the security of their data and communications. Companies need to examine their risk factors and mitigate them as soon as possible. Data loss and compliance matters often top the list of concerns, but it's important to never lose sight of your most important asset: your business's reputation.

Security is an ever-shifting landscape of threats and responses, and Steadfast diligently remains current to help clients remain protected and secure. Our proactive approach to business ensures that our clients and their data are protected; we communicate regularly with our clients, updating them on our security measures.

The Steadfast Security Suite has many products to help businesses build their optimal security solution. Learn more about managed firewalls, SSL VPN, DDoS protection, and email security products. As always, you can contact us to learn more.

Meet Compliance Demands

Our managed security is delivered from a SOC 1/SSAE 18-certified Security Operations Center, designed to support SOX, HIPAA, and PCI DSS compliance.

Please see the Terminology sidebar for further information on these important topics. Copies of Steadfast Accredidations, and relevant details, are available to clients.

Why Security is Important

Your network and data are vital assets. Our managed security services improve your defenses, maximize your visibility, and secure your data.

Modern enterprises are more connected than ever. The Internet has empowered organizations to take advantage of new opportunities, take on a multinational presence, and maximize revenue. At the same time, a more connected enterprise means more corporate risk. Your infrastructure and data face endless threats, which are your responsibility to mitigate. In addition, you have a responsibility to keep consumer data safe—or face the significant financial and reputational consequences.

Most enterprises take network and data security seriously. For those that do not, industries and government bodies have implemented strict regulations to make protecting data an obligation, not a choice. Security is an incredibly important consideration for any organization, but can be complex and time-consuming to manage.

At Steadfast, we can help you improve your security, meet compliance standards, and keep your data and infrastructure protected at all times.

Terminology

SOC 1/SSAE 18 - An auditing statement issued by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SOC 1/SSAE 18 reporting provides assurance regarding the controls at a service organization relevant to the user entities’ internal control over financial reporting, set forth by the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 18 (SSAE 18), which focuses on internal controls at services organizations that affect their clients’ financial statements. NOTE: The SSAE 18 audit standard superseded the SSAE 16 report, effective May 1, 2017.

SOX - Enhanced standards for all US public company boards, management, and public accounting firms. It requires management to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, obtain external validation of those controls, and provide assurances that financial/accounting processes are protected from unauthorized usage.

HIPAA - Requires the establishment of national standards for electronic health care transactions for providers, health insurance plans, and employers, and the security and privacy of health-related data. The standards are meant to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the nation's health care system.

PCI DSS - The PCI DSS standard was created to help payment card industry organizations that process card payments prevent credit card fraud through increased controls around data and its exposure to compromise. The standard applies to all organizations that hold, process, or exchange cardholder information from any card branded with the logo of one of the card brands.
