Yes, Windows 2012 has been out for a bit now, but we always want to be careful in supporting new operating systems to assure we're doing what is best for our customers. We needed to put it through internal quality control, update our internal documentation, conduct internal training (as Windows 2012 has some substantial differences from 2008) and more. We are now proud to offer full support for Windows 2012 in our dedicated server packages, meaning you can now get Windows 2012 dedicated servers!
Licensing for Windows 2012 is a bit different in that we can offer two licensing methods, Standard Edition and Data Center Edition. Windows 2012 Standard Edition is $20 a month per server and supports all the core features of Windows Server 2012 with support for up to 4TB of RAM and 64 sockets. One license supports two Hyper-V virtualized instances. Windows 2012 Data Center Edition is $75 a month per server and provides all the features of Windows 2012 Standard Edition, but with support for an unlimited number of virtualized instances. If you're looking to do a lot of virtualization we recommend going with the Data Center edition, otherwise the Standard Edition will serve your purposes.
Note: Windows Server 2012 is now available on our cloud hosting services, but for $0.01 per hour.
We are also now offering full support for Debian 7 (Wheezy) on both our dedicated servers and cloud hosting services. There are no huge changes, but a number of popular packages have received updates. You can see a list of these changes in their release announcement. As with all other open source Linux distributions (such as CentOS and Ubuntu) we offer, there is no additional monthly charge for using Debian 7.
If you have any questions about our new offerings, please contact us. We'd be happy to hear from you!
