In the next few weeks, I am going to be working on preparing our shared hosting systems for a major upgrade to our control panel software, H-Sphere version 2.5. There are a lot of underlying changes and bug fixes in this release, but probably the most visible changes to users will be the introduction of MySQL 4.1 and the ability to start supporting PHP 5. That said, I have some concerns about customers running software that is not PHP 5 friendly. However, we have continued to receive a lot of feedback from customers looking forward to new functionality available in PHP 5.
I am most particularly curious to know if any shared hosting customers have any good reasons they want to hold back and continue to operate with PHP 4. If users have no such reservations, then there's no question we should jump ahead to PHP 5. If you're a shared hosting customer of ours, please let me know how you feel about the PHP 5 upgrade.
